Policing Plan
Our objectives remain consistent and in line with the five main Force Key Priorities, with a strong emphasis on an intelligence led and problem solving approach in the pursuit of excellence in Community Policing.
- Reducing Crime
- Tackling Serious Crime
- Safer Roads
- Stronger Safer Communities
- Maintaining Public Order
Pultneytown, Wick, remains identified as an area of social deprivation and high crime levels and is an area which requires additional police resourcing at relevant times. The Local Authority and Pultneytown Peoples Project have worked tirelessly to attract investment through the Community Regeneration Fund to tackle local issues on a number of fronts in which Northern Constabulary are fully involved, including improvements to the Wick CCTV system.
The Community Warden Scheme operates in this locality to tackle social and environmental issues for the benefit of the Community as a whole and significant improvements have been achieved through the Community Safety Action Team Vandalism Action Group through a multi-agency approach to improvements identified in the Group’s Environmental Scanning Report.
