Command Overview
Ross & Cromarty comprises a number of sizeable towns, including Dingwall, Alness, Invergordon and the spa town of Strathpeffer.
There are smaller villages spread throughout the Command Area including Muir of Ord, Ullapool, Gairloch, Conon Bridge and Maryburgh.
The large geographical expanse of the Area Command, coupled with the resultant logistical and operational considerations, creates a very challenging policing environment.

Overall, quality of life, social conditions, and the environment are very good for residents within our area command. The economic diversity ranges from agriculture, crafting, fishing, tourism, and an ever-expanding oil-related industry in the Cromarty Firth.
In addition to the very popular outdoor pursuits such as hillwalking, climbing, sailing, horse-riding and cycling that are prevalent in the area, Police Officers in Ross & Cromarty are also heavily involved in providing a service for a variety of events such as the Black Isle Agricultural Show and the Loopallu Music Festival in Ullapool.
