Police officers at RockNess

Advice for RockNess revellers

  • If you take drugs to the festival you still have a chance to avoid trouble by placing them in one of our amnesty bins at the entrance
  • Do not turn up at the gates if you are seriously impaired through drink or drugs
  • Do not attempt to take containers such a bottles, cans etc into the venue from the roads or the campsite as it will be removed by stewards
  • Those causing a disturbance outside or within the arena will be removed by Police and may subseqently be charged
  • Music fans walking to the Rockness venue may at some point be on the road and Police would like to remind motorists to show due care and attention
  • Pedestrians should also take great care if walking and be aware of their surroundings
  • Music fans should drink responsibly and look after their friends. Police want revellers to enjoy the event, but to act in a sensible manner. Look out for your friends, don't walk home alone, use shuttle bus system to get back into Inverness, avoid using drugs
  • Drivers should remember that Police will take robust action against anyone found consuming alcohol or drugs before driving. This practice is not only illegal but endangers the lives of themselves and other roads users or pedestrians
  • Tried and tested traffic management measures will be in place for the duration of the event and in the day prior to and after it. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to adhere to any restrictions in place
  • Police take public safety extremely seriously. Extra patrols of the car parking area will take place this year to ensure everyone's safety. An appropriate level of Police will attend the event over the three days
  • Drug dealing will not be tolerated and Police will take a pro-active, intelligence-led approach to these issues
  • Visitors can help prevent crime by not taking valuables to Rockness. The message is "Don't Take Anything You Can't Afford To Lose."
  • If the weather is hot drink plenty of water and do not over consume alcohol. The use of hats and sunblock will lessen the effects of the sun
