Objectives
The Northern Constabulary Benevolent & Welfare Fund is a charitable organisation whose objectives are listed below.
- To assist by monetary grants, members and ex-members of the Northern Constabulary, and their widows and dependants who are in necessitous circumstances
- To assist by monetary grants those members above who in conditions of need, have to meet any unusual or extraordinary expenses in connection with illness, accident, death or any serious emergency to themselves or their dependants as the committee may determine
- To make monetary grants to charitable organizations as the committee may determine
- At the discretion of the committee, to give grants in conditions of need to persons having had some direct connection with the Northern Constabulary or any former Police Force within the area not otherwise allowed for by the rules
- To pay in conditions of need, traveling and out-of-pocket expenses to persons who are attending a convalescent home for treatment and convalescence, the amounts of such payments to be determined by the Management Committee.
The Fund relies entirely on its member’s subscriptions and charitable donations.
The Management Committee encourage anyone intending to undertake any race, endurance or charitable fund raising event to give consideration to seeking sponsorship for this worthy cause.
