Policing the Communities of the Highlands and Islands

Classes of Information

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires a Publication Scheme to specify the classes of information the public authority already publishes or intends to publish. Our intention is to publish as much information as possible.

Please note the classes and categories of information contained in the scheme may contain exempt information which the Chief Constable may not make available under the scheme (see exemptions and non disclosure Exemptions for further details)

We will publish under the following classes:

Who's Who and Where

Force Policing Strategies and Local Policing Strategies

Our force-wide and local strategic plans

Finance

The Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 1985 require the Police Board or Authority to publish the annual accounts for Northern Constabulary. However, in recognition of the need for accountability in the way we spend income from the Scottish Executive and the Police Board and the public interest in the cost of our services, we will publish the annual accounts for Northern Constabulary. The accounts will be published after they have been audited and approved by the Police Board and in any case by 31 October after the end of the financial year (31 March).

The accounts will be available from the year ending 31 March 2004, and after three years from publication they will be removed from this website.

Public Performance Report

To inform the General Public of Northern Constabulary's performance, a Public Performance Report is published each year. Here you will find the current Public Performance Report. Three years after publication, it will be removed from this website.

Please note that the Public Performance Report covers the year from 1st April (year prior to publication) until 31st march (year of publication).

Policy Forum Meetings

In recognition of the need to have regard to the public interest in issues of governance and accountability in decision making, the Minutes of the Policy Forum meetings are published. These Minutes contain discussion of key strategic issues under consideration and the primary decisions taken relating to resource and budgetary matters.

Minutes will be available within four weeks of their approval.

Details of approved Minutes (commencing with meetings held from 1 June 2004) are available on this website. Three years after the date of publication they will be removed from this website.
