Appeal for information after 82-year-old woman robbed in Hilton, Inverness

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 82-year-old woman had her shopping bag stolen as she walked to the shops in Hilton this morning.

The incident happened just outside the Hilton Community Centre in Inverness at 0700 this morning.

She was approached by a man who snatched her plastic bag, which contained her red leather purse. It is not known how much money was in the purse at the time. She has been left distressed following the incident.

Police say there would have been a number of people in the area at the time and are hopeful they may have seen the incident or know the person responsible.
