Police in Shetland Welcome Sentence of Drug Dealer Thu, 29 Jul 2010 10:55:24 GMT Police in Shetland are today welcoming the sentence of David Garnett (39) for his part in the supply of heroin to Shetland
Garnett was given a 40 month prison sentence at Lerwick Sherriff Court yesterday (28 July 2010) after being found in possession of heroin with the street value of £15,600 in May of this year.
Shetland Area Commander, Chief Inspector David Bushell noted: "I welcome the sentence in this case as it sends a clear message of the gravity of the offence involved.
Drugs disrupt lives and communities and we will continue to target those who are involved in drugs in Shetland, in particular those persons who bring drugs to the islands."
