ROAD CLOSURE - NAIRN

POLICE are currently carrying out inquiries in the Seafield Road area of Nairn and have presently closed part of the road to carry out an investigation.

The investigation surrounds the discovery of a firearm, which has been removed for forensic examination.

Senior Investigating Officer Peter MacPhee said this evening: "It is too early to say if the firearm is linked to the murder of Alistair Wilson as it will take some time for examination to be completed."
