UPDATE - MURDER OF ALISTAIR WILSON - NAIRN - 07.02.05

POLICE investigating the murder of Nairn banker Alistair Wilson are anxious to trace the occupants of a vehicle reported in the Lodgehill Park area of Nairn on the evening of the murder.

The vehicle is described as being a light coloured Honda CRV 4x4, and from inquiries so far, there are indications that it may be linked with the Fife or Central Scotland areas.

The officer leading the investigation, DCI Peter MacPhee, said: "We are keen to identify this specific vehicle and speak to the occupants.

"We have reports of a man in an agitated state entering the vehicle in Lodgehill Park on the evening of Alistair's murder.

"There are further reports of the vehicle turning into Duncan Drive before exiting Nairn on Moss-side Road."

He added: "It is important that the driver of this vehicle comes forward as he may have crucial information.

"I would also appeal for anyone who has seen this vehicle, and has not yet spoken to Police, to contact us at the Incident Room at Nairn."

Police would also like to reitterate that Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information which leads to an arrest and the subsequent court disposal of the case.
