UPDATE – MURDER ALISTAIR WILSON - NAIRN
POLICE PLEASED WITH RESPONSE TO CRIMEWATCH APPEAL FOR INFORMATION INTO ALISTAIR WILSON'S MURDER
NORTHERN Constabulary says it is pleased with the response from the public following last night’s appeal on BBC’s Crimewatch into the murder of Nairn banker Alistair Wilson.
As a result of last night's programme a significant number of calls were received both in the studio and at the Incident Room in Inverness. Between 30 and 40 calls were made following the appeal.
One witness has said they saw a person carrying a blue envelope close to the murder scene and this is now being followed up by the investigation team.
Head of Operations for Northern Constabulary, Chief Superintendent Bruce Duncan said today: “Overall Crimewatch has provided fresh areas to be considered and has had a positive effect in progressing the enquiry.”
