Operational & Emergency Planning
Based at Police Headquarters, the four staff members of the Operational & Emergency Planning Unit are responsible for ensuring that Northern Constabulary is prepared and able to respond to a wide variety of major incidents and emergencies, thereby meeting its commitments under the Civil Contingencies Act.
Their work involves the production and reviewing of emergency plans, training of Force staff, along with the planning of and participating in emergency exercises.

Section staff provide expert advice to the Force in the emergency planning field and represent the Force on local, regional and national emergency planning groups, engaging with partner agencies which include other emergency services, local authorities and health boards.
