Operational Support Services
Operational Support Services provides a range of specialist tactical policing capabilities. There are nine components of the Service Unit, encompassing diverse aspects of policing such as roads policing, firearms capability, road safety, emergency planning, search capability and the dogs section.

The unit's commander is Chief Inspector Colin Gough, based at Force Headquarters in Inverness.
The workforce is made up of forty five police officers and eleven police staff across four locations: Force Headquarters, Burnett Road Police Station, Dingwall Police Station and the NSCP offices in Tain.
Additionally, the unit also represents the Force on a number of different local and national groups, including those relating to mountain and inland waterway search and rescue, and police uniforms. Chief Inspector Souter also chairs the Department for Transport's national UK Search & Rescue Inland Consultative Committee.
