Professional Standards & Conduct
Northern Constabulary is committed to ensuring integrity and professional standards are given the highest priority. In order to ensure that this is achieved it is essential that complaints about the Force be investigated thoroughly, fairly, impartially and objectively.
However recorded, complaints about the Police should be balanced against the numerous letters of appreciation received in respect of all the positive work carried out by officers and police staff throughout the Force.

The Professional Standards & Conduct unit is directly responsible to the Deputy Chief Constable for the administration and investigation of reports, allegations or complaints made about police officers.
Information Security is also an important part of the Professional Standards and Conduct Unit's business.
The Information Security Officer is responsible for supporting the Force’s four main objectives, as well as providing advice to all senior officers on matters regarding information security.
