Command Team

The Command Area is led by Chief Inspector Matthew Reiss and policed by over 80 officers, which breaks down as:

  • Chief Inspector - 1
  • Inspectors - 3
  • Detective Inspector  - 1
  • Sergeants - 15
  • Constables (including 10 Probationary Constables) - 65

The officers are assisted by 42 support staff who carry out a range of duties from administration to maintenance work.

Special Constables are also utilised throughout the Area Command to assist, when required, for special events and over weekend periods.

In 2006 Northern Constabulary re-introduced the NC Cadets Scheme.  Caithness and Sutherland currently have 2 Cadets, one based in Wick and one based in Thurso.
