Public Social Media Policy

Northern Constabulary uses Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to keep you informed about policing in the Highlands and Islands, to provide advice and to publicise appeals. We may also use the sites to ask for your views and feedback on certain issues.

Our social media sites are administered by police staff and are generally monitored during normal office hours. They are not routinely monitored 24/7.

Never use Facebook or Twitter to report a crime or make a complaint.

If you wish to report a crime or a concern you should contact your local police station or telephone our control room on 0845 600 5703. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
